Idaho/Utah Trip, part 1

The day after school got out, we wasted no time and headed out on a road trip!  My mom was still with us an was my co-pilot (Ben to join us a week later).  We left bright and early at 6:00 a.m.  Destination: Burley, Idaho.

My crew, with Livy's baby feet standing in for her face shot!

The 4 big kids did pretty well.  Livy was off and on good.  Now that she's extremely mobil and active, she has a hard time being strapped down for hours and hours.  We don't like to stop a lot on road trips- only when necessary (gas, food and limited potty breaks).  She survived, though.  We all did.  11 hours in a car is never super fun, but always worth it.

She was so happy to be at my parents where she could crawl around and get some wiggles out before bed!

Mitch helped Papa finish mowing the lawn.

The kids were up early that day and up super late.  After being in a car all day, I let them stay up and play.

The very next morning, the kids and I continued our road trip and drove 2 hours to Logan, Utah to spend a few days with my 2 sisters and younger brother who all live there.

Mitch and his cousin/buddy Carter.  They were so happy to be reunited after a long hiatus.  I love these two boys!

The kids were so excited to "swim" in Amanda's pool and were even more thrilled about their swing set.  They played on it for hours every day.

Later that day we headed to "Pink's", a local shaved ice shop.  It was fantastic.  Ice cream and fresh fruit with the shaved ice?  Delish!

Next we headed to a local park to play.  My kids all adore my sister's youngest boy Jackson.  Lexi was more than happy to push him on the swing.

Uncle Steve came over for dinner that night and was so sweet to play with the kids.  We love fun Uncles!

While I was in the bathroom one day, Amanda dressed Olivia up in some of her boys' old clothes.  We called her Oliver.  She's adorable no matter what!

Lexi was happy to watch a cartoon with Jax before Sunday dinner.

Sunday evening, the kids put on a talent show for all of the adults.  It was hilarious.  Here they all are, announcing the order of events.

Mitch was first and showed us his skill of hitting/batting.

Then Carter did some fancy tricks on the slide.  One leg up and everything.

Leah was next and demonstrated her cheetah running skills.

She's pretty good.

She closed her act with a life-like cheetah growl.
Lexi belted out "Let it Go" and did a fantastic job.  She is our usually shy, non-preforming girl, but after a few seconds her nerves left and she let it rip.  It was adorable.

Chloe showed us her mad cartwheel skills.

The grand finale was this group all doing cheetah growls at the same time.  Notice the full body effort Leah puts into it.  I love her imagination.  She loves pretending and loves animals.  Putting the two of them together is so cute.  We have to reign in the cheetah act every now and then when it gets out of control or is used during inappropriate times, but for the most part, I love that she has an active imagination that she loves putting to good use.

Mitch enlisted Uncle George and Uncle Steve to play baseball with him afterwards.

Right before bed, Uncle Steve whipped out his new Mario Kart 8 game that he brought over.  He was nice enough to let the kids play his fancy game.  They were so excited.

They were quite into it, too.

They all thanked him with a big hug afterwards.

My sisters and I were able to enjoy some yummy food throughout the week.  I got to try the famous Kneaders for the first time.  Yummy!  We also hit up Cafe Rio and Cold Stone.  That, combined with my sisters fantastic cooking, it was a good week of eating!

Amanda gave the kids some massive sugar cookies one day.  They were in heaven!

The two red-headed babies!

Hours of fun outside.

Mitch enlisted anyone he could to pitch him the ball, usually multiple times a day.

Leah loves to play too (not quite as much as Mitch but close).

Lexi took a turn too!

We headed to a splash park one hot afternoon.

Mitch loves being silly- dunking his head in the spraying water.

Lounging in the sun!

This girl loves her Uncle George.  I would hire him as our personal man nanny if I could.

Chloe wanted to take Livy over to feel the water.

She quite liked it!

The twins loved my sister's cat.  He's a gentle little guy and I would find them outside playing with him often.

The kids loved the cheetah games.  They played "Cheetah School" multiple times a day and I came out to find Mitch walking his pet Cheetah.

How many kids can be entertained by one iPad?

We got to attend one of Carter's baseball games.  It was HOT.  Melt your face off hot.

The kids were well entertained by Uncle Steve and Aunt Courtney.

Right after the game, Amanda and I loaded up our kids and headed off to Burley to spend the next week and a half at our parents house.

Captured this beautiful sunset on the drive home!  I love Southern Idaho and Cache Valley!
